I just did 2 nights with my new Jaz 20/40 2x10 combo. It sounded great on the gig. Our soundguy gave me the thumbs up and told me that if I sold that amp he would break my fingers. The Jaz is an amazing amp!
Great job Doc!
btw: How are you guys setting up your eq on your Jaz? I play Teles and go for more of the fat country twang. Here the settings that I ended up with.
Volume 9:30 Treble 9:30 Mids 1:00 Bass 1:00 Master Full/40 watt

Welcome to the Jaz group! I set mine up almost spot on and also mainly use a Tele. I just have the mids at about 11:00 usually. When using the neck humbucker in my other tele though my settings drastically change. Vol 9-10 Treb 10 Mids 7 Bass 7:30-8 Master Full/20 or 40 watt. Of course I prefer 40 but others prefer 20 at times... Seems nice and Jazzy with the humbucker and set that way to my ears!

Thanks guys. I really love this amp. It reminds me of a sweeter Maz38 with a little more headroom. The verb and trem are to die for.

Agreed - it does seem like a "fuller" / "beefier" Maz 38... No disrespect intended, I love the Maz 38 - or ANY Z for that matter...cheers

I'm glad to hear it seems like a "fuller", "beefier", "sweeter", Maz 38 with a little more headroom from a few fellow Z folks. Back when I ordered my Jaz it was a toss up between the 38 and the Jaz, the Jaz one out due to the 6v6s and the onboard trem and verb. Having not ever played a Maz 38 it sounds like I still made the right choice for my needs.

I didn't have much to go on when I ordered mine either. But I got to play a maz 38 w/Reverb quite extensively a few months earlier, and it kind of came down to a choice of tone based on the tubes. The Maz 38 has the dirt and/or sparkle of EL84's The Jaz has the dirt, but with the smoother top end of the 6v6's. And the reverb and tremolo were big selling points for me too... Once you hear them in person, it could make your choice even more difficult... Not to forget the half power switch - or the loop... cheers
