I'm about to take the plunge on the Demeter Fuzzulator. Has anyone out there tried one of these? (Especially with a Maz 18 Jr.) My other options are the Keeley Fuzz Head or Lovepedal Karl.

Never tried it...what tones are you looking for?

I'm looking for something flexible - not a one trick pony. Lately I've really been into the old stuff, Grand Funk "Got This Thing on the Move" as an example. Also Hendrix first Experience album. Never had a fuzz before but thought it might make things interesting for awhile. Wasn't sure about a fuzz in front of my Jr. Also like the Lenny Kravitz tone.
I see you have a Ghia and a Jr. Was wondering how they work together. I am thinking of upgrading my second amp to a Ghia.

I've never had a good fuzz that I would consider versatile. The good ones seem to nail one sound really well. MJM makes great fuzz pedals, but I think they have 4 or 5 types to cover different eras and sounds.
Don't know about the others but the Keeley is excellent and nails the sound you're looking for, but if you want the all time best 60's fuzz - Analogman NKT sunface, mmmm.

I've had my share of Fuzz's. And I agree with zdogma, a good one is not versatile. They do one thing and they do it very well. They are all different, you always hear about great players saying "I went through many of XXX before I found the this one."

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered the Demeter and will let you know how it goes. If I get a few sounds I really like out of it I guess I should consider it a success! Now I'll move on to finding a replacement for my delay pedal. I seem to have narrowed it down to the Keeley AD9 mod or the Homebrew Mimic Mock II.
This may sound funny, but I want to spread things around between all the pedal makers and not buy exclusively one "brand". I'd like to see all the good ones stay in business. It helps all of us!

Oops. Guess I missed the boat on the Fuzz talk...I'd have given a plug for my buddy Theo, who's hand-building some sweet-sounding fuzz units: www.hartmanelectronicstore.com/splashPage.hgHe's also got an Orange Squeezer clone in the works... On the delay front, I've got that Homebrew Mimic Mock II and I love it. It's a short delay, but it's perfect for my needs. Brian

Thanks Brian. You haven't missed the boat! I haven't received any confirmation that the Demeter has shipped, so if the toy store doesn't have it in stock I may try something else.
I also thought the BJF Candy Apple Fuzz soundbits sounded sweet, but $280 is out of my budget!
