Hi there. I'm planning to get a 50W speaker (not a Gold, I already have one), and I was thinking of a 12" Red Fang; I've read some reviews on other forums and some posts in the speaker/cab section, but I'm a bit confused. Some say it's excellent, but some say it does not keep up with its 10" sibling. Everyhting I've heard/read about the 10" is great, so I thought the 12" would make sense as an English type of speaker with the Remedy. I'm looking for an English sounding speaker, with full mids, and I was thinking of getting a G12-65 under the advice of some wise people here at the forum, but I have a semi-open cab and I love alnico speakers. Is there anyone out there using it with the Remedy and, if so, how would you compare it to a Greenback-type of speaker? Any further advice? Thanks in advance, and tons of tone!!!

It's a great speaker and it sounds nothing like the 10" Red Fang if you ask me. The 12" Red Fang is a very classic sounding AlNiCo speaker. I've used it quite a bit in the past. Here are a few of my pedal demos that feature the Red Fang 12".

Well, after a couple of reharshals with the Red Fang installed in a semi-open 1x12", my opinions have changed. At first, I wasn't very happy with it; I thought it sounded better in a combo where it was being used, as it got a little break-in. Today, after a couple more hours of playing and adjusting the settings, I have to say that I love it with the Remedy; it's true that it takes time to get broken in (a little longer than my Gold, I think), but it's a very responsive speaker, and I love the saturated tone sand the cleans I get with a roll of the volume. By next week I think it'll be even better!!! Tons of tone!!
