Anyone recommend a good, reliable true-bypass phaser that will give a nice chewy sound? I'[m hearing "Hotel California" duet in my head as I ask this...
Thanks.

The Retro-Sonic Phaser looks good to me. It's script Phase 90 type with rate, depth, and a volume knob.

I listened to the clips of the 777 with headphones, sounds really good but the pan effect gave me a headache!

I like the Deluxe Moon Phaser a lot from Red Witch. I also have a 1970 Maestro PS-1 Phase Shifter and a Sweet Sound Electronics MojoVibe uni-vibe, so there will be plenty of phasing effects going around, plus the Leslie 120 cabinet (Leslie w/ similar specs to the Fender VibraTone, but in a wooden Leslie box).

To me my Phase 90 does a good job, and only one knob it's a good feature to me. I like simple pedals!! I don't use it very often but when I turn it on I have a good creamy phase sound or a rotary crazy effect.
PS: I listened to 777 samples too and paid attention to pan effect.... sounds good but the question is: why using drugs when you can listen with your headphones for 10 min/per day and have a crazy trip??? ;D

Don't overlook the BYOC line of pedals as well! Well made, affordably priced, and you can build it yourself or have it built - and then tweak away later!

The Home Brew Psilocybe is kickin'. All kinds of thick and chewy. Most of my buddies crave one after hearing mine...
