Or at least, pretty close? Obviously, you aren't gonna nail the exact mojo of this righteous amp in a pedal, but I'm selling my Boogie preamp because it's not the flavor of High Gain that I want (too aggressive).
I want something that's crunchy without as much buzz as a Boogie rectifier. The SRZ clips I've heard are EXACTLY the tone I'd like to have for my dirty sound.
Any recommendations?
Justin

You really should try a BB Preamp. Don't forget to try turning the treble control all over the place till it sounds right. Mine is producing amazing Marshall tones through my Stingray here.

Good suggestion Benttop. Xotics BB really does Marshall tones well...depends on guitars, amps and cabs being used.

I love the soundclips I've heard of the BB so far.
I cranked my FD2 all the way, and the total amount of gain was pretty low overall, even with the boost mode maxed, too.
Now, if I was running mega volume, this would probably be enough drive overall because the amp would supply that extra oomph. But the Ray is scary loud before it distorts, and I'd rather be less dependent upon loud volume to get the sound.
Yes, I do have a Hot Plate, but the tone is altered quite a bit when you're squishing the volume by -20 or so!

I think that is a good suggestion. If I run my BB through the KT-45 side of my 6545, at certain settings I can make it sound a lot like the SRZ-65 side. Except at that level of gain, the BB setup produces more noise than the true SRZ-65 when idle (ie. between songs). If you don't mind that, it is a pretty good replica. Cheers, Blair

Justin Hey Justin - Just a thought, but as of today, there are still a few Limited Edition SRZ-65s available. It's the real thing! It's got the mojo, baby! ;D
