HEY, I have been using a standard BL since they came out. I had it mounted in the back of an amp/cab, but it was a Pain getting to it mid song ( Very Bad Back). So I started putting it on top, and NICE! You can even change mid-song. So after 2 BLs I just bought the Stand-Alone. W/ 2 speaker outs and a higher wattage rating. I can't wait to give it a go. Any thoughts. I know it's just a BL: but it's a DR Z ;D

I've zero'd in on the dual speaker outs too.. that be a neat way to connect two cabs, rather than using a "Y" cable. Any Dr. Z product, is a product to be excited about!

The power handling capacity - "wattage" - is the same for both BrakeLite attenuators: 45w I like mine for the 2 outs as well - tom

Hi,
Has anyone here wired another jack in parallel in the old style brakelite to resemble the wiring in the standalone?
I'm experimenting with two seperate cabs and it seems an efficient way to do it if attenuation is required. I am aware of the impedance implications, i.e 2 x 8 ohm cabs means plugging in to 4 ohm tap etc.
I realise it will invalidate warranty claims etc. but I don't mind as my BL is too old for warranty now in any case! I have already mounted it on a bit of ply to use with seperate heads and cabs with no ill effects after a lot of hard use.
What can go wrong?
Cheers.

Been planning to do this here forever, but then I got one of Todd's Y cables and just never thought the effort was justified since I had the Y cable already. But it's the same thing - Y cable or wired in jack - same impedance implications and same circuit function. It is for you to decide which floats your boat.

Thanks for the thoughts, Steve. I am modding today, will post a pic when finished.

Hi,
All done, works perfectly and just enough room to fit the extra jack and connectors in safely and neatly.
It allows for extra speaker and cab options if the gig requires a bit more ooomph or flavour with or without attenuation to taste.
Standard disclaimers apply! It will invalidate your warranty.
Cheers
