Hello, Does anyone have any experience with the Marshall 1936 cabs. I'm currently using one with a RT66 and I'm looking to throw either a Vintage 30/GH30 combo in it or put two Weber Ceramic Silverbells (either 30 or 50 watts per speaker) in it. It currently has the stock 75 watt celestions and I'm not really digging them too much.
I run the amp relatively clean just on the thresh hold of breakup and use pedals for overdrive and distortion so I need to not get flabby or lose focus.
Finding a used Zbest and selling the Marshall might be a better alternative.
Best, Marion

Avatar makes nice cabs that come with that configuration of speakers for a good price... The speakers are actually cheaper at avatar if you get them broken in. They are called "Hellatone" speakers on the website.

I have had my route 66 for almost a year running it with a marshall 1922 and a late 70's marshall 4 x10. I was never really happy with the tone... i was always tinkering with eq, pedals, guitars but nothing seemed to work. i recently found a good deal on a used Z-Best 2 x12 and it sounds amazing. I had never realized how much colour the marshall cabs had (probably more the gt-75's than the cab itself), but i couldn't be happier with the z best.
