Mack over at Evans Music City in Houston, TX sold me this wonder of an amplification appliance today. I can't say enough about the service there. First class all the way! Let me test drive it as loud as I wanted! It followed me home......... Where is everybody running their cut and tone knobs? There are ALOT of sounds there! This thing osunds so good, I can't IMAGINE what the Z Wreck sounds like! Peace! Mitch

Very Nice Blond Mitch, CONGRATULATIONS. Looks great with the matching cab. And I totally agree with you about the Z-Wreck - now that I've got a RAY. It must be absolutely insane... I run the CUT @3 TONE @4 Vol.@ 4-6 - no B/L -cheers & Welcome - tom

Hey Mitch, I can't make out what kind of Z amp (with the wood panel) is to the left of your Ray? It looks like it might be a SRZ 65? If so.... want to part with it Thanks, Merks.

Merks; That, sir, is an SRZ-65-RH from 1997! I got it from a friend who was the original owner. Even though it is a MONSTER, and not MY cup of tea at the moment, I wouldn't feel right parting with it. Even, though my friend said I could sell it. I do have to give him first dibs back. If I had a guitar tech and roadie, I would run BOTH at gigs, what a combination! If it comes available though, Z-Talk has first dibs, if the original owner doesn't want it back, that is.

This amp breathes and chimes in a way that no other amp can. Enjoy.

Mitch, Congratulations on your new amplification appliance. Nice looking set up. I've played Blair's SRZ65 RH, what a great amp but can understand if it's not your thing. First didb's if you decide to let it go! ;-)
I run the tone and cut differently for different speaker configs and using a strat 90% of the time other wise it's humbuckers but for me it's the different speakers that have me tweaking the controls. For my fav spk - alnico 50w blue dog t=10:00 c=2:00. For ceramic (various models) t=12:00-2:00 c=9:00-10:00. Oh and crank the volume up past noon for nice smooth OD.

to answer the settings question:
With my Trussart, I run Cut at 2, Tone at 4, Volume at 2 for pedals or 8 for blues.
