Do I have to get a new quad? I think I already know the answer, just bummed about blowing 60 bucks on a quad when only one is bad.
Some tube retailers have power ratings... Should I stick with the average distortion? Im curious about a lower powered tube for a little more power tube distortion.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Probably best to replace the lot, unless you have a maximatcher or something to match your tubes. You can just drop in another JJ, but if its not matched it may not sound great, and sometimes it will draw a lot of current compared to the others and redplate. In a pinch i have used the Weber Bias Right and picked a tube that has about the same current draw at idle and that seems to work fine without blowing up the amp. But I would only use that as a temporary fix.
as far as early distortion, there is a little bit of difference between the ratings. Its not going to be a night and day difference. No harm in trying.

Thanks zdogma. I ordered the set today from dougs tubes. On the bright side, I have 3 good spare tubes for other uses.

Did you decide to go with JJ's or try something different in the power section?

JJ's. I trust Doc on this one. However, I do plan to check out some other tubes in v1 while I got her opened up.
