Thanks Eddie. I had to fix a few minor indiscretions that occurred when I was working on it at about 4am with a few adult beverages effecting my judgment. You can see I misaligned a brace and then there was that unfortunate incident with the router...

Hey Brayks - just a heads up - you can actually get matching surf green tolex form Humbucker music. They bought a whole bunch extra when they started the whole surf green Z thing. www.humbuckermusic.com/

OK, a lot of great stuff here. You all got me motivated to do something about my board (that just doesn't seem to be big enough). I got out my hammer and chisel and started new construction on a new board. Roughing is completed now on to finishing. I'm thinking of covering it with Fender Sea Foam Green Tolex with a couple of beige Rally Stripes that are bordered with either black or brown 1/8" piping. I'm trying to match my surf green Maz 18 combo and extension cab. Here's what I got so far. And the beat goes on.... That looks really really nice, I am looking forward to seeing it filled up with pedals!

Actual Z Surf Green! Boy I missed the boat on that one, and I got my amp from Humbucker.
Story of my life.
Thanks for the heads up NR.
I just got the Fender Seafoam Green Tolex delivered from Mojo Music Supply. I got my rig set-up at our practice facility. I going there tomorrow to check the match, we will see...
The velcro arrived today, piping should arrive in the next couple of days. I've never attempted any sort of vinyl or tolex covering before. The corners are scaring me: Might need some liquid courage to tackle the project.
Barring any Honey-do projects, the bulk of the project will be completed this week end.

Almost done...Slight delay due to trip to England and slight case of the Flu. Board is tolexed, most hardware installed, and pedals are mounted, wired and ready for flight. Just waiting on the last hinge set so I can mount the hinges, catches and handle... Much bigger project than I expected but hopefully worth it. A couple of interim pic's...

Well it's finally done. She's not perfect but good enough for who it's for. I don't know if the tolex matches the Z surf green yet until I get to our practice facility tomorrow. It does look really close to the same color so confidence is high. It took a whole lot more work and $$ than I expected but worth every bit of what I got into it to me. This sucker is sure heavy enough - but it's built like a brick out house (a two hole-er at that).... I learned a lot on this prototype so the next one is going to be much easier to make nicer, cheaper, lighter and faster. Changing the bottom Xotic AC Boost out for an OKKO Diablo Plus that has just arrived. I can't wait to give it a try.

brayks, That is one awesome piece of art, man. What did you use to cut the groove for the piping? Thanks. BTW, here's an update on my board. Since scaling down to a PT Mini, I've been missing mounting the wah on the board. Solution: ZVex Wah Probe, Fits perfectly.

Thanks for the kudos all. I'm working on some different handles/pulls.
They are gonna be look like a fender neck and headstock about 7" long from 1/2 maple with a walnut veneer fingerboard and frets. Am I anal or what?
Hey Bart, I routed the grooves for the piping with a 1/8" square profile bit. The sad part is I decided to do the piping AFTER I assembled the whole damn thing so routing was a real pain in the tush. Next time I route the pieces BEFORE assembly....DOH!

I hope its ok to answer these direct questions it seems I have been setting off alot of alarms here

Currently using two boards. Depends on the mood I'm in. Never both at the same time (too much space.) Main board: Alternate board:

Thanks for the compliments.
I first started this project because I was too cheap to pay the going rate for something like a NYC, Puma, or TT and they did not have exactly what I was looking for anyway.
I saw a thread on the forum about having more than one pedalboard which makes sense to me.
I will probably make another much smaller version for a second board. Lord knows I have enough pedals laying around.
I never really thought about doing them for others. Hmmm.....Do you suppose anyone would buy them?
