Just ordered a Remedy. Should be here next week sometime. I ordered it with the S/A Brakelite. I kinda wanted the air brake, but it was not in stock.
I'll be using it temporarly with a closed back Mesa 2-12 with very well broken V-30's. Maybe I'll give it a go and put my gold in my 1-12 z cab and try it through it that also. Mostly likley will try a Z best down the road with greenies if I really like the Rem.
With my MAZ Jr (keeper) I can run the V and M to max, I'll boost it need be w/ a BB or TS. With the brake lite at 4, it's fine for every day stuff at home, sometimes I set it at 2, sometimes off during the day. Do you guys think the Remedy will be usable for me with the S/A or should I have gotten the air brake? I play 80% at home, 18% with a drummer/singer, 2% out.
Any advise is very helpfull as I could still delete (time permitting)the S/A brakelite and just wait for the airbrake.
As always thanks so much in advance. Nicholas.

If the Brake Lite is working ok for your Maz Jr you should be able to make a go of it with the Remedy too. Remember the Remedy has half power, which puts it in the same power band as the Maz Jr. If you want to compare the factory settings of the Airbrake and Brake Lite, click the links in my signature.

Thanks Steve, I'll just give it a go with the S/A. Be fine I'm sure. If the half power mode works as good as I have heard I'll be one happy camper. Never had one work effectively before, but this one looks like its implemented differently. And you dont have to change the speaker impeadance, thats cool.

Just be aware that your perception changes as volume goes down - be willing to twist the tone knobs to get back to what you're listening for. If you start out on half power, you usually don't get this perception problem - you dial up what you want and there it is. But if you start out on full power, then switch to half, you perceive the loss of volume and want it back.

Yea, that makes sence. I keep hearing that if you double the output it increases the volume about 3 BD. So would it be accurate to say that that difference between full and half is about the same as 2 click's on a BL?
If that was the case, then the Remedy in full power with BL set to 4 would be about as loud as a MAZ Jr set to 2 clicks?
Probabally not quite that simple, but a reasonable guess??

nicholas,
dBs are used to measure different things. A 3 dB change in wattage corresponds to a doubling (or halving, depending if it's +3 or -3, of course) of power. However, that does not translate into a doubling of speaker output volume or sound pressure level, if I remember my physics correctly. The shift in volume is quite a bit less. The more technically qualified here can correct this or clear it up if I've misstated things.
That out of the way, the Brake Lite will be totally fine with the Remedy. A highly recommended accessory.

I thought about getting an Air Brake too. But, after the tone I got last night at pretty quiet, for me, volume levels using a few of my OD's and booster pedals, I don't think I'll need anything. It was really great that the amp sounded that good without having to fight with the soundman over my volume.

Our soundman mixes, when he can, to the volume coming from the stage. He really does a great job and tried to work with me as much as possible in the past and only told me to turn down when the whole system had to come down. He said for future low volume gigs, we do lots of them, the Remedy is something he can really work with. BTW, he said it's the best tones he's heard from me in years too. That was very cool because a soundman only usually says something to you when you drop notes, unplug something, sing off-key etc anyway right?
