Hey I always end up using mostly the bright volume as my normal channel is really dull, I'm getting ready to swap out the tubes and see if that helps. Whats other folks normal channel like?

That's the point. Turn your normal volume up for the edge. Turn your low volume up for the beef. You can have both up at the same time you know - it wouldn't do if they sounded the same.

Agreed.
Normal channel is just to fatten things up. It's a bit dark on its own.

The old 4 input Marshalls (the inspiration for the Remedy) were the same way. Mixing the two volumes is where the magic lies...

So what are everyone's favorite settings?
I have my normal setting at a little past noon and my High at about 2:00. Please give me you references!

Normal 10 oclock, bright 3-4 o clock with a strat. I turn both down a bit with humbuckers.

Lately I've been running both around 10 o'clock, maybe a little higher, on full power. That's with an Eric Clapton Strat, which has fairly high output pickups. Guitar volume to nudge the amp into more hair, pedals for heavier OD.
This "clean platform" reflects repertoire demands of a cover band mostly doing 50s to 70s material and gigs that aren't amenable to multi-amp setups. I used higher vol settings for blues-rock group, but I'm using the Z-28 for most of those gigs now.

You guys must be attenuating. I am finding with the 20watt setting with NO attenuation I get the biggest most and most Mojo tone. This keeps my Vol I @ 9 and II just below 9. The BL is a nice feature but immediately effects the speaker reaction and thus the tone. Thats how the folks at Humbucker music explained it to me.

I've messed around a lot with the Rem's volume/EQ settings with many different guitars. My fav setup lately: Running the Rem on full power with the both volumes at about 3 o'clock and the EQ set to \ | / I use a homemade L-Pad attenuator to knock the volume down. Using a tele, the amp still cleans up nicely when the guitar's volume is rolled back, gets hairy when pushed a little, and blows up into fat compression when run full out. You really don't need an OD pedal when the amp is pushed hard. A tele bathed in 6V6 power tube feedback is a beautiful thing.

Bright= about 2:00 Normal= about noon. (maybe a little higher for single coils.)
I like my distortion from the amp rather than pedals. To me, a boost/overdrive pedals is an 'effect'...not something that's normally left on.

I agree. I like my distortion from the amp, no pedals for nazz. Bright vol from 11:30 to about 2:00 gets me everything I want from the amp (some days I feel nazzier than others), and I run the normal about 1-2 "hours" less that the bright. I change the tone controls differently on any given day, but they range only from about 11:00 to 1:00. This amp is about my most favorite sound in the world with a Tele for the various R&R styles that we play. I love this thing.

I replaced my power tubes, they were getting dull. I put in a new matched set of JJ's and the amp sparkles now. Its even a bit bright when you bust up the bright volume of treble, but really nice sounding.
