Well I got the 1-12 blonde/tan Monza. First impression..... wild and wooly. I absolutley liked it. Tried it through some different speaker cabs, but in the end just not for me. Just came on too fast. A fine amp though for sure. But in all its raging glory.... not so different from my MAZ with pedals. Funny thing is it's exactly what I hoped it would be . Pretty sure I have scrambled eggs for brains. But it got me thinking ( to some extent ), if I love the MAZ Reverb so much, and just really want a combo....maybe a MAZ NR is more in order. A 1-12 blonde/tan to be specific. Peace out Monzanites. Enjoy those little, loud, bundles of raunch.

I know what you mean. The Monza with certain (i.e. vintage or vintage styled) pickups can be unruly. And although there are lots of good sounds to be had from it, it is more of a "one trick pony" than any of the Z amps, other than the Mini-Z. It seems to be more of a "love it" or "leave it be" type of amp. More so than any of the other Z amps I can think of, which in general tend to be more flexible and more applicable to any musical genre or situation.
I still want though, but more just to use for fun and at practices than for live shows. It is tone heaven with a Les Paul custom and a Z-Best- but it can peel the paint off the wall.

Happy trails indeed. It is a unique amp, to be sure. Didn't last as part of my stable either, but I can appreciate what the amp is all about and can understand why some are intrigued by it.

I'm not playing mine now, but I have plans to pair it with another amp and run them together.
Stacked 1x10s!
