I am linking a track I just recorded for a song - still working on lyrics. This is the first time I have used my Forrest Lee Jr. Double Bender guitar on a long track. Wondered if the lighter Paulownia wood would give me a full enough tone with a Florance Voodoo in the bridge - it does. but the guitar sounds very "un-Paisley'ish." Instead this Tele sounds exactly like the hollow body Gretsch that Jerry Corbitt played on the Jesse Colin Young and the Youngblood tracks back in the 60's! It is a very cool tone. Tele played through my Dr. Z RX/ES with a Boss Compressor - but played at low volume clean setting, no overdrive used. Then Mic'd into ProTools. Anyway, the Youngbloods tone is clearly heard on the two transitional lead parts I played. I can always do Brad Paisely tone if I push this Tele through the Z - but this wood/Pick-up configuration is giving me a real nice retro tone at reasonable levels. You gotta kind of listen through the other instruments during the strumming part, though. www.furniturerepairsyoucandoyourself.com/Kev%27s%20Instrumental%20w%20Tele.mp3
