After two Maz Jr.'s, a Route 66, and a Stangray (and an almost purchase of a Z-28)....I'm now down to a Remedy and two 1x12 cabs with greenbacks. (one open, one closed)
If it wasn't for the Remedy, I'd have kept my Maz Jr.
I could be set with this for a while. The other guitar player in my band has a Maz Jr with an Avatar 2x12 (V30 & G12H) I think he's done for a while too.

So you moved the Ray...
I'm both bummed (that I didn't jump on it) & thankful (ditto). :-)
Now I'm jonesing for a Remedy...

Yeah, it was time. I didn't really have a use now that I left the country band. The Remedy seems to be my desert island amp.

Yea, the Rem was my only amp for awhile- it's a good thing to be able to find something that really moves you and stick with it. There's plenty of sonic territory in that amp to keep anyone busy for a long time. Glad to hear you're happy with the Remedy, esp after all the fallout with the country band. There's NOTHIN' wrong with a big helping of plexi!

I'm down to one amp now, too: Remedy with Z-Best w/Heritage G12Ms. The Victoria Double Deluxe had to be sold this weekend - shame, nice amp, but my girlfriend needed a vast quantity of new clothes for Fall or something, I didn't really follow but decided to not argue the point. I really wasn't playing it since buying the Remedy anyway...

Well, I'm bumpin' my own thread back to the top.
I picked up a Z-28...so it's not just the Remedy anymore.

how have you been liking the Z-28 John? I have ben jonesin for one for a while now. I almost gave up my remedy a few times for one. Wish i could have them both but i just can't justify it right now.

how have you been liking the Z-28 John? I have ben jonesin for one for a while now. I almost gave up my remedy a few times for one. Wish i could have them both but i just can't justify it right now. They're pretty darn different. One is an EF86 fronted amp, with the tone controls in FRONT of the first tube. The other is a more traditional 12ax7 with the tone controls AFTER the first tube. (Actually, after the second tube) And that ef86 is SO percussive and dynamic. And the distortion/overdrive of the 28 is different than the Remedy. Not better or worse...just a different flavor. You can crank the Remedy up for lots of distortion, and if you want, you can hide some sloppy playing behind it. Not with the 28. It will show all your mistakes, and it holds more clarity when pushed hard. Again, neither a good thing or a bad thing...just different. But the other side of the coin is it can be, under the right conditions a bit more expressive. I consider the Remedy a much more aggressive amp.

ya I will some day get that Z28 like you did john, but having the remedy as your only big amp is nothing to complain about. The amp is just killer and versatile from clean to grind and everything in between. That american sound in the Z28 will always be intriguing though. I also got an old 1606 1x8 supro that sounds superb.
