Hey folks! Just got a live recording back from my band's festival and thought I would share a track. This tune features half of the members of String Cheese Incident sitting in with us as we cover one of their tunes. You can stream or download it free here... euforquestra.bandcamp.com/I'm running through my Maz 38R 2x12 on the recording. Hope you enjoy it!

Yes, indeed! Was that you on the early guitar break (around the 2 minute mark)?

Yes sir! I'm the only guitar player on stage so any parts you hear are me. There are a couple harmonies and a guitar solo. There's a pic from the show below as well. You can see Kyle on the end and my Maz behind him by the leslie. The String Cheese Incident members are: Kyle Hollingsworth on keys, Michael Travis (SCI's drummer) on congas and Jason Hann (SCI's percussionist) on timbales. You can also see more pictures from our festival at my friend Tobin's blog here: jamscenes.blogspot.com/2010/08/camp-euforia-2010-july-17-day-2.html

Kyle is a brilliant musician as is Michael. I've not seen them since 2002-ish... so, Jason is an unknown quantity to me. sounds like it was a great time... i definitely enjoyed the recording.

It was a real treat to play with those guys. A brilliant bunch for sure. I didn't follow SCI much either after about 2001-2, but I think Jason Hann joined on full time as an auxilary percussionist around 2004. He's a really talented percussionist and a nice guy too.
Glad you guys like the tune. I'll post a few more tracks in a couple weeks when I get the mixed version of the recording from the night.

Truly sounds awesome, man! Glad that you stuck it out through your power tube troubles with the MAZ! Really nice playing.
I saw the SCI in Louisville many moons ago. They always draw a crowd.

Thanks mostrummer! Glad you enjoyed it.
I'm also very happy I stuck through my Maz issues. It was a really frustrating couple of weeks when I was dealing with all that, but sure enough the simplest explanation ended up being the answer. I've also re-worked my pedalboard since then and now I'm happier with my tone than I've ever been before. Thanks Doc!!
You're right about SCI, they definitely bring a crowd! The week after our little festival on a farm in Iowa those guys played three sold out nights at Red Rocks!!! ha ha

You mean this little place?: Sorry, was just out there last week. What a venue! And I did really enjoy it. Your note choices were great! Surprising and just right at the same time...

Yeah! Isn't that place amazing?!?! It's one of those places that truly does live up to all the hype. I was able to see SCI's middle of three shows there and it was a blast! I recently joined a Fort Collins-based reggae band on the side and we are playing an afternoon set at Reggae On The Rocks next weekend... I can't wait! Unfortunately the whole festival is run on backline equipment so I won't get to use the Maz at Red Rocks
