My Remedy should be he in a week or two and this strange thing happens to me every summer about this time: I go on a Van Halen binge. Yep. That's what I said. I listen to all the albums from the first through Balance (don't get me wrong I love Gary Cherone and Extreme - but VHIII?, come on, man). I watch a bunch of concert videos and read a whole bunch of old VH articles in old magazines (you know, from way back when they were still making albums?). In any event, to help me through this annual maelstrom of awesomeness AND in anticipation of my soon to be arriving Remedy - you guessed it - post me up how you get your EVH tones, of any era, with your Remedys. Much obliged.

I have always been a big fan of Van Halen I & II .. Then it I kinda skip to the Van Haggar years which I think are awesome no matter what some say.. lol
Finish What Ya Started is one of my favorite all time tune by VH..
Haven't taken my Remedy through the Van Halen paces alot but I was jammin to some Aint Talkin Bout Love the last while with my Remedy....
I had to refer to a pic on my phone of my setting but my last settings on my Remedy were...
T - 11 M - 9 B - 12
Normal vol- 12 High vol - 10
Good basic tone and then pump my Keeley Baked TS-9 and my Phase 90 into it and could get close...

GOTTA use greenbacks with CLOSED back cabinets. Anything else is a turn in the other direction. And ya gotta play LOUD so they break up a bit.

Just dime the amp... seriously. It will give you that "plexi ready to explode" tone ala VH1. You'll probably need some attenuation depending on how loud you can play without disturbing neighbors, wife, etc. Add your favorite reverb device and you're set.

I've been using the Wampler Pinnacle II limited quite effectively for great VH sounds.

I got and AirBrake the other day and have been using it with my Remedy with great results. I remembered this suggestion and dimmed the high volume & 3 O'clocked the normal and there it was! That infamous "Brown Sound"! Plexi ready to explode is a great description! Give it a try...& get ready for Eruption!! ;D Enjoy!~
