I've had 2 ISO cabs (Demter and a Randall) in my studio for quite a while. They are pretty handy. Self contained speaker cabinet that doesn't bleed much into the room. Creates an extra Isolation booth in a way. I usually use a lower wattage amp for them like a Ghia or the Maz 18Jr. Sometimes I have to cover the box w a packing blanket or turn down the master. Also sometimes the box yeilds a 'boxy' sound (well, it is a box!). Today I used the Airbrake to bring the volume down in the box and it yielded fantastic results. No boxy sound. I've got a bluebell Jensen alnico in the box which is mic'ed by a Senn 409. Last week I was cleaning and found 2 Airbrakes. Man am I glad I found 'em!

Any preference between the two isocabs? I picked up the Randall for my home studio. I'm liking it a lot since I can crank away without disturbing the house.

The fact that the Demeter's door opens 'out' (as opposed to the top opening on the Randall) is kind of a plus but the Randall seems to seal out the noise better, comes with a speaker and costs much less. They both work pretty good and sound much better with the Air Brake.
