Hi there CG experts. I'm thinking about picking up a used Ghia today. ;D ;D I think it is a 2000 year model but is supposed to be in perfect condition. Just curious if there are significant differences between 2000 and current production models?

The newer ones have a 4 AND an 8 ohm tap...My older model only has an 8 ohm.

Thanks Buddy. I am now officially a 2-Z household. Made the deal today and sho 'nuff, this CG head has a single 8 ohm tap. It was built in '98. Looks like it was treated very gently and is in great shape for a 8 year old amp - it will probably outlast me. Oh yeah - I'm digging the tone from this amp!! ;D

I'm gonna take mine to England this fall I think. I'd like to take it AND the Senior, but the carry-on gestapo might not let me past security with it. A lot of the venues we're playing are really LIVE old halls and the ghia would be just right in some of 'em. Might take the Swamp Thang to insure enough headroom.

I'm gonna gig with mine too in a couple of weeks, but will take the Jr along too. I am really impressed with the tone from my Les Paul thru the Ghia. It sounds huge, especially with a little delay thrown in a la Billy Gibbons. This is definitely a keeper!

I have to agree Texblooz - I've been jamming along w/ my best of ZZ CD alot lately w/ my Les, Delay & Ghia and it really does get those Billy G tones. Hey, I used to live by Euless over there in Denton. Hope you're stayin cool down there!
