Day 2 of Z ownership. Holy moly. Spent about 3 hours on these new amps (Mas18 & Remedy) this afternoon and now just spent 2 straight hours on the Remedy and I can't seem to get enough nor get over the great tone on these things. I am addicted to this Remedy amp! Great for every type of song from country to rock to ballad. Played tonight with it through the air brake at full bedroom setting and the thing still sings. Roll back that volume knob on the guitar and be able to hear myself sing along with the best rhythm tone, and crank it for a little solo and there seems to be nothing not to like. If this keeps up I don't know what i'm gonna do with all these other vintage amps I own. I acquired all these different vintage tweeds to get great tones at different volume levels, but now it seems this one amp will get a great tone at any volume! May have to put all the vintage stuff in a closet and save it for retirement income down the road. Can't believe these amps have been around all these years and I'm just discovering 'em!

Really though, don't hold back... tell us how you really feel. Gotta agree with your assessment.

Good Gawd A'mighty. Just finished another hour with this Remedy and an Airbrake. I can't imagine why I'd need any other amp. Cranks out satisfying tone at any volume level. Playing the Remedy through an '67 Vox cab with silver Bulldogs, and a Mas18 through a 2-12 Matchless cab (Celesions). I've been A-B'ing these with my other amps, and I can get about any sound I want outta these things. Between the two of 'em, I can get nearly identical tones to '64 AC30, '53 Tweed Twin, '57 tweed Tremolux, '59 Bassman. Only thing left to compare is my old Plexi - in the shop right now. This addiction I have just took a new twist. Not sure if I can recover. Just to be sure, I have a Route 66 comin' in 3 days to have a listen to yet another. Will this never stop?

Well, no it doesn't. I have six at the present time, and my colleciton is small compared to a few guys here...

And a hip feature to this Dr. Z thang is that, if you got a couple of speaker cabs, you can pick up several different heads for reasonable $ and have quite a wide palette of sounds and options. And they don't take up as much space as all those combos!

A Route 66 on the way after just two days?! Wow, you really have been smitten, haven't you? You'll love the Route 66, by the way. It is a beaut! Welcome to the Z-Club. You probably ought to plan on coming to Z-Fest next year. You'll go wild sampling every amp Doc makes... john

Congrats on buying the Remedy. Absolutely killer amp.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts regarding comparing the Route 66 and the Remedy. I've never played a Route 66 and am curious. Sometimes I'd like a little more clean headroom out of the Remedy, not sure if the R66 would have that, or not...

Hey Tubes Tack. Can't say the Studio 66 has any more clean headroom than the Rem. When you turn it up it gets fairly distorted, pleasantly. I think for lots of clean headroom maybe a Galaxie is the ticket. I'm jonesin' for one of those to give it a try, and sounds like folks dig the gainy channel, too. Don't know how much longer I can hold off pining away for the Gal, despite not having the cash! Need one more fix. (But, then what about a RxES?)

Re. the Galaxie: dude, I would just chill and enjoy the two incredible amps you have. There's time for everything, and you just got these two beauties - don't wreck the initial experience by obsessing and lusting after others, already... just my thoughts.
