Just thinking out loud....
In the Carl Verheyen "Rumor Mill" DVD "Master Class," he points out that he uses a Hotplate on his 50W Marshall, taking the line out into his rack delay (and then feeding that into a 100W Marshall). I was impressed by that idea, and I may consider trying something like this. However, I like using an Airbrake to tame output as necessary. Would there be any point in not attenuating with the THD and using the Airbrake for that? Is this asking for any trouble?
Thanks in advance, terryg

If you are going to use the Hotplate as a line out only with no attenuation and it is impedance matched, I don't see a problem. Of course adding things in the signal chain may have an effect. ArnieZ

True, indeed. I'm facing a potentially puzzling opportunity coming up (well, now) in that I've got a few amps that I'd consider using together. Stereo purposes, clean/distortion purposes, whatever. The Carl Verheyen....Hotplate Line Out thing....struck me as cool.
I use a Hotplate on a Super Reverb, and frankly I like the way the Airbrake serves this purpose a bit better (tho it doesn't support a 2 Ohm load), hence my question. I guess if I decide to try it, I'll find out!
