I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a Ghia head this week but was wondering how much clean headroom it has (by clean I mean Clean, no hair). Where on the volume does it start getting dirty with single coils, I use Anderson pick-ups FYI. I plan on using the Ghia as a dirty amp 90% of the time but I was wondering. Thanks Guys, Mark

It depends a lot on the speaker but I would say a little more clean volume than Princeton Reverb. With an old EV 12 I can get enough clean for a rehearsal. I hate to admit it but it would also probably be enough for me to gig in some rooms but I like to be as loud as I can get away with.

For speakers, I plan on using a 2x12 closed back with the Vin 30 and G3012H combo. I also may get a 1x12 but need to do some research first. I'd want something to contrast the 2x12.

I put a WeberVST C12CA, which is I think 85 watts, a JBL clone... HUGE magnet. The Ghia would not break up at all with that speaker, it was like a (LOUD) country amp. I put a WeberVST P12B in it and it was almost all bark with no headroom. I put the C12MZ (C12"Mr. Z"?) that I got with it back in, it still sounds great and the C12CA lives in my Leslie 120 cabinet.
