I boxed up my 6545 a month ago to move, just had a chance to dig it out and run it on my Z best, and the 45 side is sounding mushy and bland, I tried the EF86 and the rectifier, different speakers/cabs without the head on the cab, the 65 side is good as usual, could I have knocked something loose in the move?

I'd email the Doc about that one - haven't delved into the inner workings of the amp. Do know the 2 sides share several components.

Update:
I rebiased the amp to 32ma a la shunt method, it was at 40ma for some reason. I still have the stock EL34's in it and had the amp for almost 2 years now, never gigged with it, but play it often, had to change the rectifier tube once cause the stock one died after the 1st year.
Sounds better now, but all this talk in this forum of the B+ supposed to approx 418DC to 460DC got me a little worried when I measure 400DC with a rectifier tube and wall voltage at 114.7ac at the time of measurement.
Maybe it's time to replace the rectifier and power tubes?

If your wall voltage is 114 V I would opt for a SS rectifier. That is a very low level of AC my friend.

Thank you for the reply Doc I used to live in a Basement apartment that had 125 during non peak and 120 during peak out of the wall. Now I'm in a 20 floor apartment building with 15 units per floor, 114 non peak and 110 peak. I did the math for 10 to 15Vac difference on the amp assuming a 1/4 step up PT and came out with a difference of approx 20 to 35VDC on the B+ using a 5AR4. Dug out the some notes I took when I first got it and I had 436 back then (in the basement). I put in a ss5AR4 and it sounds great once again.
