I've had my Ghia for just over 2 weeks and I love it. This past weekend I converted an old combo amp into a 1x12 ext. cab and put a Red Fang in it. I actually managed to NOT screw anything up while doing this -- no small feat for me.
By the time I was done it was too late to crank the Ghia up so I plugged my SF Champ (I had the RCA jack replaced with a standard 1/4") and I was completely floored by the sound of this speaker. Absolutely freakin' amazing.
Tonight I hooked the Ghia up to it. It took me a little while to get it dialed in right but when I did it was awesome. I also ran it in parallel with the G12H30 in my Maz Jr 1x12. Pretty good, but the RF is way louder than the H30.
So, what's a good speaker to match up with the RF in a (closed back) 2x12? I'm leaning towards a Governor. Anyone have any other ideas? Tonker? Tonespotter? Private Jack?

The Tonker has a little more bass and slightly thicker mids than the Wizard. It's a pretty balanced speaker. The Wizard is a bit brighter and open in the mids and has mids & treble similar to a Celestion Blue. Not as much low end punch as the Tonker. I remember the Red Fang (tried one about a year ago) as being on the bright side and lacking some bass. The Tonker would make up for the Fangs deficiencies and visa versa. The ceramic magnet on the Tonker will add some punch as well and the Tonker just sounds HUGE. The Wizard sounds similar to a G12H, but more open without the nasal mids I hear with the G12H. It should work well also, but will sound closer to the Fang with added punch from it's ceramic magnet. Of course, this may be just what you're looking for. Both speakers are very impressive. For my tastes, I would try a Tonker first. The Governor is voiced close to a Vintage 30 and although I've never tried one, I've had my share of Vintage 30s and don't care for them much. Steve

Steve The Fang is definitely bright, no doubt about it. I like the way it sounds when I roll the treble back at the guitar. Bass doesn't appear to be a problem. I'm not real fond of the G12H, at least not in my Maz Jr. Tonker sounds like a good possibility.
