My Ghia had a motley assortment of tubes when I got it, so I swapped them out with what I had in my spares box (mostly JJs and an old GE rectifier) but I want to try the Groove Tubes EL84s tubes with the "6" rating that everyone says are the shiznit. But I can't find them!
Oh, I can find GTs well enough, but no one seems to have them with the specific 6 rating. My local GC had only 4s, and the online places I checked either didn't give you a choice, or just offered 'medium' (which could be anything between 4 and 7).
Any suggestions for where I should look? Thanks!

You should post this for Myles in the "Ask The Experts" section of this forum. Myles works for GT and is our resident tube guru.

I reposted in "Ask the Experts."
MF now just lets you specify the range rather than the specific rating number.

I've ordered them directly from GT in the past and specified a #6 rating in the comments section of my order.

My local shop in Ottawa sells a lot of Z amps (Lauzon's music) always has #6 EL84S in stock since most of Z's amps use them. I think they are about 70 CAN per quad. www.lauzonmusic.com/Have you checked with your local Z dealer?
