Thought I'd let a hard working RX/ES share the video space with the Tele! If the link is frozen, which sometimes happens, the video is at

+1 for sharing with us - I really enjoyed that and I like that B- bender you have there in that Tele!

Really nice work on Burp Rag, Ormond! I've been working on some of Doug's stuff also but have yet to tackle this song. Love the tone from your setup is your guitar plugged straight into your Z?

Blewby - Thanks for the comment. The RX/ES is a dry amp so I ran it into a Boss DD-3 for initial delay and then I added a bit more when I recorded. My initial compression was done on a non-modded Boss CS-3. That is it - I got the Z volume/output dialed up to where I was getting "some edge on the hair" - then I simply recorded the guitar as loud as I could - right at the threshold of distorting. You mention that you have also worked on "Burp." It is really, really, really hard to play. I kinda think that if you get this one down most other solos are within range. There are exceptions - "Bargain Bucket Breakdown," that Sol Philcox wrote and played with Brent Mason, is insane. And some other Doug 7 stuff is just as crazy.

Big thanks to Brent for posting my RX/ES promo vid on the Official "Z" FB page. For those of you who would like another resource for breaking info from the factory, go here - www.facebook.com/drzamps Now I just need to find a "live" drummer to work with because I still have trouble with "timing." I really admire players that can play out "in the real world."

Very cool, man! I can hear Doug and Brent's influence in your playing, that b bender lick at 1:10 is bad ash!

Bill - you should have heard the B Bender licks when I was first working them out. They were all bad!

Well thanks, Steve - coming from the guy who did "RemedyStoneBlues" that is quite a nice compliment. I am a faithful follower of your work and playing.

so Kevin, have you figured out what you are gonna do next? I am loving your stuff bigtime! Looking forward to another...I agree with Steve, the Rx sounds so smooth and you nail that classic tele tone to perfection!

Hey Mark - I do not have a clue what to attempt next. As I have turned 60 years of age, my "rememberer" gets easily confused by all those notes. It would be easier for me to make a video of me playing the chords for "Louie. Louie" but I do not think it would offer much viewer satisfaction. I do have the TAB here for some Johnny Hiland stuff....hmmmmm....and all the TAB for "Cluster Pluck"........but am I that kind of masochist?

Holy crap!!! Doug Seven just sent out a challenge to do Burp rag and then Post it, you already got it down Kevin...I just saw the tab and it would take me 3 years to remember all that! Yikes! I think I will work on it though

Awesome! Love the tone! What kind of pickups do you have in that tele?

Well Mhermans, first let me say I have been enjoying your stuff here and on the TFPRI - you have a lot of people over at the Fender Forum digging your stuff. It is very, very good.
I only used the bridge PU on that video - and it is a Lindy Fralin Blues Special. The Tele is terribly heavy because that is how the Parsons/Greene Bender affects it - and it is enervating to play standing up - but I think the weight and density help that Lindy Fralin PickUp just go on forever. Other than that I left the stock Fender Strat Texas Blues PU in the middle and I put an Adder APC T600N in the neck. If I were playing the kind of stuff you do I would be using the neck PU all the time. Keep playing and keep posting! You and me are holding up the "Z" end over on the TDPRI!

To Mark N - If you take up that challenge let me know because the TAB he sent is not totally what he plays on the song and I will tab out the parts I restored. I would aslo tab out the ending I wrote because Doug did not tab out the last section. You will need a B Bender to play this thing though. Mine will be for sale - I just ordered a Double B&G bender from the Forrest Lee Jr.
