Just got a brand spankin' new Maz Jr NR with Tonestack bypass. I'm running it throught an Avatar 112 vintage style with an Alnico Gold and using the Brake Lite in between so....... Since there is no good place to mount the BL I've just been setting it on top of the head, but I noticed it get kinda hot 1) is this extra heat from the BL normal? 2) any interference with the amp if it's sitting on top?
Thanks guys

Congrats on the MAZ Jr. Yes, that is a great big resistor in the brake lite, so it will get warm. It is designed to be mounted in a speaker cab - but some here mount the Brake Lite to a piece of wood and set it on top of the amp. I can't imagine that you would experience interference by having the BL set on top.

I park my BL on the top of my MAZ combo all the time. So far, so good, but I think mounting it on a piece of wood is a good idea. I do worry that the tolex might be affected by the heat. To date, I haven't played at a volume that causes enough heat generation for me to really worry.

Try mounting inside the cabinet. That's what I did.
