I just got done playing my Z28 thru my Princeton (just the speaker) that's loaded with a Ragin Cajun - Sounded excellent. Nice and clean with the treble and bass around 11:00 and rockin' at 3:00. Good clean, bass response and didn't breakup/flabby at all with volume at Noon.
Is anyone interested in a cab that would hold a Z28 with a 10" speaker? It's purpose would be to have something that is small for practice/jams but could be used with an external cab for gigs. Size would be as small as possible - maybe similar to a Blues Junior.
I've been thinking about contacting a couple of cabinet builders to check on prices and qty breaks. If the Dr. would be interested in offering these, I'd certainly be interested in buying from him first.

Ya got that right ! ! RC is very, very cool.
The boys are comin' over for the Supa Bowl on Sunday and we'll do a little jammin'. Can't wait ! ! After that I'll try out the Copperhead.
Thanks for the trade too. Seems to have worked out good for both of us. The PR is my first SF Fender and it's renewed my interest in those. The Zs will never be replaced but the PR is a great compliment to them.
I gotta get down South soon and see ya gig. Maybe this summer.
Thanks again - Al Z.

I was thinking I might like to switch my Z28 head over to a 1X12 combo...

I was thinking I might like to switch my Z28 head over to a 1X12 combo... I've had a problem with EF86 amps in a combo format. When the volume gets high that tube's tendency to be microphonic starts to show. The separation of having head sitting directly on top of the cabinet seems to keep it from happening, even better that you can move it off if necessary.
