Does anyone have any opinions on the Blues Devil with the Ghia? Thanks.

The BD is a great Tube Screamer clone but I think it sounds best with the Fender-style (scooped-mids) amps. My favorite ODs for the Ghia are a McFuzz (more a Fuzz Face-style) and Barber DD, both of which have less mids than TS-derived pedals such as the BD.

Check out Jauernig's Diabolical Gristle Tone Manipulator too. To my ears, very similar voice to the DD, cleans up a bit better with guitar volume. I'll never go very long without at least one of those little guys.

Try a Hotcake, I used a standard model for years with the Ghia, a great combo... Now I'm using the Bluesberry version and it's also great (it has a slightly smoother gain structure.. I have a couple other nasty pedals and use the Hotcake set a bit cleaner- it's so *clear* sounding, anyway)...
