used a pair of Z-28 heads at the same time in a set-up with one running a 1x12 cab and the other running a 2x10 cab? Just wondering what kind of sound spread this would give and if I've been dreaming too much lately ;D thanks Joel

I've got two Z-28 combos... a 1x12, and a 2x10. Ive been running them both in stereo for about 3 years now, sounds killer. I've got a Scumback 12h-HP in the 1x12, & one Scumback 10" & one Z-10" in the 2x10... very nice cleans & absolutely stellar dirt sounds. I'm also using some cool NOS tubes in both amps, but they aren't the same: RCA Blackplate 6v6's, RCA 5751 PI in the 2x10. and Brimars & Mullard 12ax7 PI in the 1x12, which makes it have a little more british flavor, while the 2x10 is more american sounding. I set both combos atop Sound Enhancers, which basically gives you detuned cab benefits with combo amps, & all the sound from the back of the speakers gets pushed out front. This rig works great for me, which is why I haven't changed it for a long time except for a few pedals here & there, & despite major amp gas attacks once in awhile.

I once tried to run a Z28 and Z 4-10 cab with my Rt 66 and Z-Best cab in stereo but it was just TOO BIG for the gig. Sounded pretty damn awesome though.
