I saw on the KCA site Mike was saying the Tung Sol 6V6's sound more like 6V6's than "the other brand". I assume he means JJ. Has anybody tried them in a Remedy?

I feel absolutely no need to change the slightest thing in my Remedy, esp. the tubes. Love it "as is!"

I don't have any Tung Sol 6V6's, but if I did, I'd give them a whirl and let you know if my tin ear hears a difference. While I don't feel like changing anything in my Remedy, I do have a matched quad of NOS Hytron's lying around that I'm curious to try. I'd expect little or no difference - and I'd be hoping for that since the price of NOS tubes is a tad higher than JJ's!

I don't have a Remedy (want one), but I have the Tung Sol 6v6's in my Princeton, and one thing I will say about them is that they lasted longer than the EH 6v6's that were in there for a very short time. They are a very hearty tube. My Princeton gets used pretty much every weekend, and the Tung Sols have held up extremely well. After 3 years, there are still no rattle in these tubes. I reccomend them from that perspective. I have read that the JJ's have more of an in your face midrange to them compared to the Tung Sol's.

I have some RCA Blackplates that I am going to swap when the real guitar player comes home from college. I also have a full assortment of NOS glass for the rest of the amp to try. Mullards, Bugle Boys, Telefunkens, Siemens, RFTs, american stuff and Tungsrams.
We are going to have some fun!

In a Deluxe, the Tung-Sols sound nothing like RCA blackplates in my opinion. They're fine, but very different. Quieter and less full-bodied/warm. No idea about in a Remedy. Haven't tried much other current production. I'd use them if that's what I had on hand without feeling bad about it. Marconi "coke bottles" are a more affordable compromise.
