This is from a house party that I played with Cathouse Thursday back in March. This was the first gig that we played with this lineup and about the 3rd or 4th tune of the night. Live and raw but fresh and fun too. I'm running through a Sparkle Drive and a Boss DD-3 and the wah is an older Clyde. The cabinet is an open back 2x12 made by Kerry Wright and it's got a pair of Vintage 30s in it. www.johndepatie.com/documents/2010.03.19%20All%20Along%20The%20Watchtower.mp3

Daayumm, John! I MUST stop listening to Route 66 players. Tone, baby.
I get flack for saying this, but I have always liked Dave Mason's takes on this song versus Jimi's. Something tells me you might share that view.

Wow, I don't peruse down here in the audio section very often but I'm finding some great stuff by some gifted folks. This has been covered by the other thoroughly the the other reviews - agree wholeheartedly. Very refreshing & tasty. Tone? Day-um, I need a 66 now (and a venue to turn it up as well /o\ ). I wonder if there would be a way to put out a sampler of some of our forumites using there Z's in this kind of a setting to showcase our talent and the amps.

Wow, I've been away all summer...just getting back into the forum and what a nice surprise to come back to all the kind words! You all just made my day/week/month!
Oh, and Jan, I like both. Jimi's is one of my favs of all time but I opened for Dave Mason a couple times and got to hear him do it live...really nice! I've never asked Will (the singer) who influenced his arrangement. We never rehearse or talk about the arrangements, we just start playing, haha. ;D But if I had to guess I'd bet he's a huge Dave Mason fan.
