Hey Matcaster-I will be in France (if all goes according to plan) in March/April of '07 for a number of shows with John Mayall all over the country. I hope to see you at one of the shows...

I've just come back from la belle France, it's great. Stayed near Royan, the guy who owned the place had a soundproof studio and loads of gear, all of it solid state though. Tried to interest him in tubes and Z amps but it was lost on him unfortunately. I'm going back next year, I'll make room in the car for a mini Z. That should do. Also got an Apaches from Paris CD in a store in Sainte. Top sounds.

Thanks for the recommendation, it's a good CD, didn't he also do a Hendrix project thang? What pickups are on that Blue tele type Lentz you are pictured playing? Looking forward to seeing you over here in the UK. John Boy

Yeah, the Jimi project I think he calls it. All Hendrix tunes sorta rebuilt to Phil's way of thinkin'. I know some might call it blasphemy but its real cool, just like Cruel Inventions. I just love the writing, playing and production of the whole project, and he did it at home. Interesting guy. That blue guitar belongs to my buddy Zane, it was one of the first Lentz HSL's and has Scott Lentz' own take on the tele bridge pickup and P-90 (he calls it L-90) in the neck position. We're looking forward to the UK trip too, sustained employment is always good! See ya there I hope. We have one more 3 day weekend at the end of September up to Oregon and Washington, then 2 weeks later in mid-October we'll be headin' 'cross that pond again...A long time to be away from home and family but we're in good company when we come over and always enjoy ourselves. AND we work EVERY DAY! Yippee!

BW thanks for that. I'm going to have to reduce the number of guitars as retirement looms (not for a while though). Thing is I like em all. I might plum for a good strat, the Lentz one's look great but being over here it would be nigh impossible to get hold of one. It's not good being away from home for long periods, I was in the Royal Navy for 25 years and 2/3 of most years was spent away. We appreciate your visits though!
