.......in my Ghia combo....it sounds just awesome. It actually has more bottom end that the VC-30 which I felt was a bit too bright for my taste. It is so much more open sounding and detailed. I was a bit apprehensive as I had always heard that the Blue was a bright speaker and lacked bottom end also so I was pleasantly suprised when I discovered that it's not really "too" bright at all....just far more detailed and open sounding so for any Ghia combo owners who have thought that the amp was too bright which I have read from time to time, I have but 3 words of wisdom........ ............just do it......it's worth every penney and you'll never look back, it's that good!
ps........thanks Myles, you were so right!

The EJ is in alot of peoples minds the best sounding Strat made inc. some ridicously priced Custom Shop models..........very woody sounding......great sustain and very resonant. The fretwork and neck are also awesome. It's definately a keeper.......go check one out but be prepared to buy it on the spot which I've read in many posts is exactly what happens!! If you decide to order one talk to Eric at Willcutts Guitar Shoppe in Lexington...........price will be the very best as will their setup and customer service.

I tried a low-wattage WeberVST Celestion Blue clone... sounded great, a ton of bark, but it brought the headroom of the amp wayyyyy down and I didn't find it to suit blues playing as much as the ceramic WeberVST speaker that came in the 1x12" z-best...
It would have been my #1 speaker if I played Led Zeppelin and Tom Petty stuff with the grind all the time...
In a contrasting turn of events, I also tried a WeberVST C12CA clone of a JBL speaker... the ghia wouldn't break up at all, even completely dimed... a country amp or something! So, I put that in my Leslie cabinet, sounds nice, makes my Fender Champ II loud enough to run stereo with the Ghia.

Yhe Vox Blue is also a very efficient speaker ... 1 watt in = 100db out .... so you may find it can cover a lot of class A/B 50 watt levels if desired.
This about as good as it gets.

I bought that Blonde 1x12 from Squeallydan that your brother built, and loaded it with a Cannabis Rex. It sounds GREAT with my Ghia.....and looks pretty cool too!
Tell him I said, "nice work"!
....also, one question.....is that cab the same dimensions as the original Z 1x12? I want to buy a cover for it....and I keep forgetting to measure the damn thing!

I opted for the Blue in my Maz 18 NR combo. What a nice speaker! I'm sure it is killer in a Ghia as well.
