Hey,
Looking for a good speaker for an old-style Z 1x12 open cab to run with my Remedy.
I've tried a Red Fang, and it's a bit too crisp up top, and loud....especially with strat/tele
Any ideas on a nice warm, quiet-ish speaker?
Thanks!

Almost all Eminence speakers are really LOUD.
Perhaps a Greenback....at 98db it's quieter than most.
Also, most Weber speakers are known for being a lower db than most Celestion and Eminence. But others here in the forum would have to give you more advice about those.
Or you could look into some Jensen speakers...many of them are down in the 94db area. But I can't make a recommendation about sound.

My fave is an old Dr Z speaker, Weber built; P-12 Z Alnico.
Phat, warm and eats some power, killer. Might see if anyone at Weber still has the cut sheet and can build you one.
the G12 65 Heritage Celestion is really good as well with Remedy.
As for Eminamce, the Texas Heat is great, only 97dB and 150 watts, I like that speaker with most any amp.

I had the G12-65 for a while. Very very warm speaker! And it's only 97db! If your looking for something warm, I would definitely put that in for my vote.
