anyone else using a univibe (or clone) with a ghia- it makes a huge sounding amp sound huger- 10 feet wide- i think a driven ghia likes it better than reverb or delay- as it squashes the signal the vibe just gets more organic )think doyle bramhall) whereas delay stuff gets messy and noisy

Bustertheboy, I cant claim a gia in my herd, but i do have an MJM 60's Vibe, ( THE closest clone ive played when a/b'd with a original Uni ) !! It is stunningly accurate to the originals shape, swing and Depth, without the tone suck when its off. I have played it with ALL my Z's, and your RIGHT !! It sounds HUGE. I had someone comment at a gig asking what that "3-D sound was " he said it seemed to be swirling around the club! The MJM is very open, and deep, but like you said it does make the amp kinda "chewy", awesome. Ive owned i think all the clones including an original and the MJM is superlative. It was so much bigger and deeper than the Deja, the provibe just didnt have the right swing shape, ( too round instead of kinda elliptical) and the depth control was weird. I felt to my ears the MOJO was probably second. The Voodoo vibe is cool, but i'm not a tweaker and it had too many parameters, Not to mention the full time Buffer is to my ears, HORRIBLE! It puts this real high end Zing to everything, i dont dig buffers, and most of my pedals dont either, Ha! Any way, glad to hear it, you dont hear to many comments these days about vibes!!

I have a Red Witch Deluxe Moon Phaser that should be arriving at any time... (and an EMMA Discumbobulator and a Bluesberry to replace my old Hotcake).... it's been a good couple days, my Yamaha P-70 arrived yesterday (thank you, Mr. Tax Refund)...
The Red Witch has Phase, Tremolo and Trem-o-phase, which is purpotedly tweakable into uni-vibe range. I can't wait to get a KR Doubler to add in as well... Octavia + vibe = awesome.... I use a Leslie, so for my organ emulation, I won't NEED to get the rotating sound out of the Moon Phaser, however, it would be cool to get a Hammond + phaser sound... Not sure if I've heard a Hammond with a pronounced uni-vibe going, but we shall see!!!

I really want to put the DMP on tremolo feeding the discumbobulator for a synth like auto-wah in time with the trem effect.... hello ebow and leslie cabinet and POG... some weird sounds are definitely headed my way...

good to hear people are still into phasing/ univibe sounds- really didn't expect the response i'm interested if people are using disortion/overdrive before or after the unit or just into a distorted amp i find vibe into a driven amp loses a lot of the 'vibe' unless using a strat or tele with a good wah and then it is really organic

I'm using an old DOD FX65 (powder blue, two knob, from the mid-80s) after compression and into my distortion pedals to get a tremendous, clear Univibe type sound. I bought this thing for $15.00 bucks for nostalgia and ran it outside an old amp's effects loop for giggles, and MAN, it was instant Robin Trower. Or close enough to my ears.
I run it pre distortion because I figure that you want to use the vibe's eq sweep to drive the distortion, not the other way around. That's just me though.

I'm a big fan of the vintage EH Small Stone... really swirlalicious. As well, my script MXR Phase 90 has a nice leslie vibe @ about 3:30 - 4 o'clock on the dial through the ghia heated up or overdriven w/ a booster.
