Celestion Gold in Z 1x12 convertible cab..............nothing short of amazing! True, but I replaced the Gold with a G12-65 for a bit and it's a close second. I put the Gold in my second convertible and it knocked my socks off...again. It's staying in there from now on. Everyone needs a Gold.

Celestion G12H in a Dr Z 1/12 cab open back. Warm clear and open Celestion G12H and a Celestion GM12 Greenback in a Dr Z Z-Best tighter more focused with warmer treble and midrange and less bass then the V30. I agree the V30 just didn't work for me with the Z-Best and the Remedy. No disrespect it's just not the sound I am after.

I've never really like V30s but really love it in the Z Best. My ZBest has the v30 and g12h30 combo and for me it works great. The V30 seems to sound better the more I play, seems to have lost some of its upper mid spike. Could be my ears getting use to it, ha. Anyways, live I like to mike the g12h30 since I hear the V30 over that speaker a bit. Hopefully that gets the tone through the p.a. from that speaker and any volume off the stage you hear a little more of the V30, works great. I'm new to the board and really enjoy reading all the different responses to threads like this. Pretty cool place
