I am sure some of you have tried several. This poll is for what your favorite speaker is. What you have settled on using

Celestion Gold in Z 1x12 convertible cab..............nothing short of amazing! True, but I replaced the Gold with a G12-65 for a bit and it's a close second.

My favorite is da Z-best ;D But, I split my time between a stock-standard Z112 w/v30 and a stock-standard Z 210 - both are plenny loud enuff at this point in life and have proven to be plenny toneful too .... that said, Zbest remains on my wish-list cheers always, eh Joel

Eminence Governor in my Inverted Remedy 1x12 Combo. An Eminence Red, White & Blues sounds pretty darn good, too.

I don't have a Remedy but if I did there would be only one speaker I could think of and would be a Greenback. Lucky enough I have 4 of them in nice cabinet.
Really you left out 2 serious combos that scream Marshall tone.

With the Z-Best on the bigger stages it's unbeatable. But I do like the AlNiCo compression in a 1x12... I still gotta try it with the 2 10" Red Fangs though.
It's speaker friendly.

I would agree - it has sounded great through about everything I've used here. The Z-Best was awe inspiring, but I like the 1x12 with Gold too simply because it sounds great and is real easy to transport. Now if I had a couple of roadies... well, then I might want a couple of Z-Bests and a couple of Remedies too...

I chose "other," as my two favourites are:
- Marshall 4x12 w/ a quad of Celestion G12M RI greenbacks
- Z Best with G12M/G12H mix
The Remedy has a very special vibe with any kind of greenback-related setup.

G12H30 and a Weber C1225. Finally took the V30 out of the 2x12 closed back cabinet and I've been much much happier.

Right now Avatar 2x12 w/ G12H and V30. Anybody use 2x12 w/ only Greenbacks. The bands been bitchin about too much volume w/ the Mesa 2x12(V30's). I'm thinking of ordering the Greenbacks for the Avatar if it will sound good.

I'm thinking of ordering the Greenbacks for the Avatar if it will sound good. I tried two Greenbacks in my Z Best, and as much as I love GBs, I didn't like them in a pair. It was too much fuzz/breakup, total overkill - was nice for leads and ringing, semi-dirty chord work, but for rhythm riffs, etc, it was way too much breakup, no definition, chunk, or sparkle (and outright farting out on bass notes). This is with humbuckers in my SG. To me, GB's are best in quads, or paired with a G12H, if used in a 2x12.

I voted other. So far:
DRZ 4X10 Sounds great. REALLY LOUD! Z Best Stock*. I like this one the best. DRZ 2X10 (small cab version) sounds great here too. DRZ 1X12 (small cab version) V 30 sounds great here too. Avatar Bluesbreaker 2X12 openback V 30 and G12H, (my sons cab) sounds great, almost as loud as the 4X10
Looks like everything is a winner.
*I did have 2 Golds in my Z Best. It sounded great with everything I tried, except the Remedy. So I switched the speakers back to stock.

I voted "Other." Actually, I go back and forth between my Z-Best and my Avatar 4x12 (2 Heritage Greenbacks, 2 Hellatone 30s), and I have to admit that the Avatar is a better sound. Bigger, roomier, more space, more air, more room to breathe. And simply a more glorious tone. By comparison, the Z-Best is smaller, tighter, and more 'boxy' sounding. Part of the reason is that, IMHO, 4 is simply always better than 2. Furthermore, those Greenies are such a significant part of the equation for producing great classic rock tone that they impart a flavor that the Z-Best combination of G12H + V30 can't quite match. If I didn't have the Avatar 4x12 to contrast it with, the Z-Best would be my go-to cab.

After several days, I'm glad to see that no one has chosen the V30. Wonderful speaker...but not with the Remedy.
The V30 has it's traditional nasty upper midrange honk. The Remedy is an upper midrange aggressive amp.
Put the two of them together, it's just too focused.
For other applications, the V30 is fantastic...but for the Remedy, it's not for me.
I'd like to compare 2x12 w/greenbacks against a 2x12 w/ G12H & V30
(G12H= not enough upper mids...V30= too many upper mids, so they balance out..but which one do you mic?)

V30 can work well enuff. And, while I mentioned earlier my fav is Z-best ..... there aint been any 'tone' complaints when I've had my Remedy and V30 out for some play-time ..... of course, I do still need to work on findin' a coupla more lead lines/riffs/licks/tricks and perhaps an xtra chord or two to make some songs sound a lil' bit better ...... cheers always, eh Joel

I like my Remedy thru a 1x12 convertable with a Gold. However, I LOVE my Remedy thru most of my 4x12 cabs, especially an old Marshall with Creambacks............it's BIG.

I really like the Celestion G12-65s in my '80 Marshall 4x12. Has anyone tried these with there Remedy? I'm still saving my pennies for a red Remedy, so I haven't been able to try this combination out. Not a huge fan of the G12M Greenback. I know that this is blasphemy in some circles I have always liked a little headroom in my speakers.

I have a G12-65 that sounds real nice with the Remedy. The only reason I'm not using it right now is that I wanted to match sensitivities when I run both of my convertible cabs, and the G12-65 is a lot quieter than the Alnico Gold I have in the other cab. So I swapped it out, but it really does sound good.

It was everything that I liked about the G12M, but with a more articulate low end and a tamed high end sizzle. I think they are a perfect match for my JMP 2203. I don't want to hijack this thread, but has anyone tried a ceramic Fane-style speaker with their Remedy? I was really considering the Weber Thames, but don't know how it will pair up.
