Congrats! I took my SRZ to rehearsal last night (as I'd been neglecting it since I got my Delta), and I forgot just how great the SRZ sounds. I was running it through a Z Convertible w/ a Celestion G12-65. The only thing between my guitar and the amp was my Boss tuner. It was one of those situations where I had to just look behind me and smile. The SRZ gives up some of the best ROCK TONES from the Dr. Z line-up. And the cleans are decent, too. My intention (once we get out of all this damn snow ) is to run the SRZ in stereo w/ the Delta 88. You're going to love this amp (but you already know that! ;D)!

I rarely see the SRZ-65 -and the KT-45 for that matter- in music stores or on stage, especially compared to the MAZ series, the Carmen Ghia, or the Galaxie. All of these other amps I either own or have run into significantly more often.
However, the two less common Dr. Z amps, from my experience, also seem to be two of the best Z amps. But with higher prices, louder volumes and fewer bells and whistles (at least comparing the KT-45/SRZ-65 to a MAZ Jr for example) these amps may just not be as appealing to many players.
Well, I love em and will spread the word. And really, the SRZ-65 is THE ROCK TONE. The Galaxie and the Carmen Ghia can churn out excellent "tweed" style rhythm tones too, but for pure rock, SRZ all the way. Cheers!

Hey mtlrecords, let us know how it goes. I've been debating that very set-up myself, w/a Tele. The EZG for more "cleaner" tones & the SRZ for the all-out rock. I've got an old open-back 2x 12 Marshall cab w/ some older Greenbacks that I think would work w/this head. Enjoy! Looking forward to your observations...

Man you cant beat the The combo MTLRECORDS is gonna have, I ran my 67' Super Reverb In a Head enclosure for cleands and the SRZ for Dirt! For along time until I got my Stangray! I'm using it more it has the Chime that I just love but, The old Fender 6L6 Will blast too. I ve posted it before. The DR would sell Tons of SRZ/EGZ or SRZ/Stangray Dual CH in one Box. The EGZ is So Sweet, It gives the Original Blckfaces a run for the money even the Tube reverb, You can get the Old Plexi 70's to Todays Modern Gain sounds from the SRZ! I ususally push mine with a BB or a Timmy, cause I only run my gain on 12-2 but Dimed its! FNAMAZING! Has a very Realistic Master Volume that doesn't kill your tone.
