mudskipper was saying over at the speaker forum that the new Celestion Gold sounds really good with his plexi clone....and you know it makes me wonder...if all that glitters is Gold ;D I reckon when she gets there you'll know. ;D Let me know how it sounds too 'cause it also Makes me wonder. Don't be alarmed now... Yes there are two paths you can go by but in the long run There's still time to change the...er, um, speakers?

Maybe a 4x12 for the SRZ65? With the red and black grillcloth from the visit thread?

I don't know if the Doc will make a 4x12, since the Z best is plenty loud. I think I'm gonna hold out for a 1x12 with a Celestion Gold 16 ohm speaker.

There's been talk on the forum that running the amp at the highest resistence uses the most of the transformer's wire--supposedly better tone (probably an urban myth though). I also heard Marshall style amps sound best at 16 ohms. Either way, I'm going to use the cab by itself so I don't need to worry about matching it with another speaker.
