First, my Remedy is the end-all amp and I gushed to the good Dr. after I got one of the first ones a year ago or so.
I have recently begun to appreciate some of the old glass out there. Had amazing results with my son's Carr Mercury, a Blues Jr. and my Victoria 50212. I have not touched the Remedy but have now worked up the courage. I got a matched quad of NOS "Blackplate" RCA GT's on the way. (I also have a great variety of NOS tubes for the preamp like Tung-Sol, Mullard, Tele, Bugle Boys, Tungsrams, etc.
So I got a couple of questions I guess.
What should I bias the 6V6's at and what kind of plate voltages do the stock tubes see?
Any thought on the Pre amp tubes? I've gpt a 10M Mullard Master Series I'm thinking in V1 and the maybe a Bugle or Tele in the V3? Ears will tell.

Remedy is cathode biased - you don't need to change it so long as your power tubes are matched.
More details from the Amp Specs link in my signature...

I think your wasting your time and money. The Doc has Don dial in every amp/tube set up as part of the QC before it leaves the shop. I know of no other builder that takes the time and effort (and cost) to do this. Mike Zaite treats each amp like a child, it is not about the money, it is about pride in his product. A bud here went down the road your looking at and has yet to get his Remedy back to sounding as good as when it arrived.
Save yourself the grief and wallow in the factory happiness.

Extremely well said Curt. Doc and his guys not only take the time to make each amp sound their best; Doc also designs and voices his amps to sound the best with today's available tubes.
I was one of the first EZG-50 owners; this amp was practically made for my style. It sounded great...better than great....right out of the box. Mine had Svetlana "Winged C" 6L6's. I thought, "how much better could this sound with my RCA blackplates ($400/pair!) in here !?!?! Answer: the Winged "C"s sounded better...a lot better. The highs were smoother, the mids were smoother, and the bass was even tighter. They sound great in my Super Reverb and other amps, but the EZG just came alive with the factory tubes.
One tube swap and re-bias later, and my EZG was back happy again with the factory tubes.
I had the same experience with preamp tubes on my Mazerati GT. Good thing I carefully labelled the factory ones when I took them out to experiment!!

I appreciate the advice. With all due respect I'm going to pop some tubes in anyway. The worst thing that can happen is I put the stockers back in and sell the others on eBay.
It's a win/win..............if it sounds better then it's better; If it sounds worse then it just confirms the last few comments and hopefully others will learn and not go down that path.
The only negaitve is that if it does sound better then I've got more invested in tubes and others may be tempted to spend more too.
Thanks everyone for the input, I'm hoping the power tubes will be here for the weekend. Let me also reiterate, this is (for me) a fantastic amp stock and I would never do anything to it that isn't irreverseable.
