I know the Dr. is currently making the 6545. I bought one and love it. I have been wanting an SRZ-65 more and more though. I really hope the Dr. will see how many people want an SRZ-65 and produce a reissue at some point C'mon Z, we want the SRZ-65!

Yeah, I think Maction and me are the only ones on here that have one. It's quite an amp.... I'd like to A/B it with the 65 side of the 6545 just to see if there's a difference. I'm thinking the SRZ has one more gain stage but I could be wrong on that. Maction's got the short box and I have the old long box version.

Too bad I'm not closer to you. I would like to compare them as well.

tasweigan,
I couldn't find that one on eBay, even in the completed auctions. maybe the seller got cold feet?
prowler,
did you contact Dr. Z? according to the site, "the SRZ-65 is still available in limited production." when I was thinking about getting one, the same message was up, but the guys at Flynn Guitars said they could do a special order for me.
johnnyl,
I'll be getting my Route 66 later this week. can't wait to A/B them. I'll do a post here with my initial thoughts as soon as I can. it might help those who've never played through an SRZ-65 to have a review using a Route 66 as a reference point.

maction...
I never thought to have a "special order" placed! I'll have to speak to my favorite Z dealer tomorrow.

johnnyl,
I wasn't planning on getting a Headbone to use the SRZ-65 and the Rt. 66 with the same cab, but that's not a bad idea!
I was originally planning on using different heads for different sounds when recording, but generally leaving one at home with an attenuator, and using the other as a main amp in my practice space with my buddies.
prowler,
hope you get good news on the SRZ-65 front!
