Great setup you have coming, congratulations! What color did you order and where from if you don't mind me asking?

I chose black with salt and pepper grill for both. I happen to have a Z Best cab in the same color scheme and figured I would continue the trend.
I bought the head from Main Street Music in Aztec, NM online via email contact. I bought the cab at Make'n Music out of Chicago because they had a match to the head in stock and could ship it the same day as ordered. I would highly recommend either place for either the head or cab. Both John (Main Street) and Teddy (Make'n Music) are super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

Cool thanks for the info. I got mine from Humbucker music (my Jaz and 2x10 that is), it's nice to know there are so many nice Dr Z dealsers out there.

WooHoo! It was here waiting for me when I got home. Will post pics sometime this weekend. But for now I gotta start rockin!
BTW from the initial run through I noticed that the reverb is very noisy. Anyone know which tube slot handles the reverb? Everything else is great!

I think it is v3 for the tube, counting from the right to left that is. If it is an earlier one (mine was #14) it may require a reverb update. I contacted Dr Z. by email and they took care of it for me. Yours sounds like it may have been like mine, mine originally got pretty noisy past 10 o'clock. It could very well be something else so don't quote me on the above. Hope you get it figured.

Yeah. As always, Brent and crew are super helpful in suggesting troubleshooting techniques. I have swapped, replaced and replaced the V3 & V4 tubes per their suggestion. All to no avail. I fear it may be a pan problem. Tube swapping is the extent of my technical prowess so I guess I'm not in a position to speculate further. I will be reverbless for a while but there is enough amp in the Jaz to keep me busy in the meantime. ;D

Are they sending you a new tank?

I generally don't get email responses from them on the weekend. So we will wait until Monday to see what the next step is. As of now I'm just waiting on Brent to respond. People gotta have some time off.

Sorry I wasn't inferring that they should by any means have sent you one already, I know they will be more then happy to get it working right whatever the problem is. I was just curious as to what the issue may be and thought you had already discussed it with them. So beyond the reverb how are you liking the amp?

Right now we are onto troubleshooting the tank. At this point I am the biggest hurdle as I can't swap out the tank with another to see if it is the culprit. Can I borrow your tank? *wink* Just kidding.
Other than the verb, the Jaz is probably the best amp I have ever played. Definitely the best I have ever owned. I think it's versatility is amazing. I absolutely love what it can do. Being as flexible as it is I find it extremely difficult to land in one spot tonally because I just want to keep tweaking and playing and experimenting. I think that is pretty normal for new amp owners though. Every where I land via the EQ, Volume and Master I find great tone. You would be hard pressed to find "unacceptable" tones I think. Being that it loves pedals just adds to the fun of this amp, too. I would imagine your experience is similar, or not?

Very similar experience yes, I would even now say that as hard as it would be for me to let go of my maz jr nr and my ghia if I could only keep one of my three Z's it would be the Jaz for sure. Mainly for the great versatility like you mentioned. I love the cleans, the 20/40 watts, the od, and the pedal friendliness. You made a wise choice with the 2x10, they sound incredible with this amp. Oh and if you want stop by and switch out tanks for a comparison feel free to, just drive north for 3 hours you can't miss it.

Brent emailed me this morning and is sending a new tank for more troubleshooting. Gotta give it up for hands-on customer service. Chalk another one up for the Dr. Z crew.
How does your 1x12 blue cab do with the Jaz?

Sounds real good but I have only used it along with the 2x10. I know it can handle the 20 watts just fine considering the beating I have given it with the ghia but I am still hesitant to use it alone at higher volumes. I think along with the 2x10 it can then take up to 30 watts safely. I like the difference I am getting with the Jaz/2x10 and prefer the blues with the el84 amps for the most part. Things could change though.
