I dig it. It's nice to hear the Route 66 rockin like that! Were you using any pedals with that, or was the crunch all Rt66? Can you also tell me what pickups you have in the Tele?

You know, I kinda dig it too. I use my 66 for bluesy rock...Clapton, Zep, etc. I thought it was kinda cool with you doing the heavier punk. Kinda Green Day-ish, with a little alternative thrown in. I think it shows the Route 66's versatility. What a fantastic amp. Thanks for sharing.

Rockin' Iggs! Kinda reminds me of a lot of bands I used to listen to...Samiam, Chamberlain, etc. The Route 66 is a great base amp for ANY rock style. It's just got balls! Add your desired amount of gain and off you go! Was kinda suprised to see you wielding a Tele! Good Stuff.

Thanks guys! This is definitely the heaviest we get ... other stuff is more straight up alternative rock. Were you using any pedals with that, or was the crunch all Rt66? Can you also tell me what pickups you have in the Tele? For that song I use Keeler Designs "Push" pedal, amazing high-gain OD. The 66 is cranked as well, all controls around 1 o'clock. On the solo I kick in the Foxrox Octron and Retroman KopyKat delay. The Tele is loaded with the stock pups that come with the Deluxe models which are the Bill Lawrence designed Samarium Cobalt Noiseless (SCN) pickups. I really like them, nice hot output, still very Tele like but not authentic "vintage" in character ... super quiet. That's why I like Teles or Strats with the heavier stuff, still plenty of crunch but cuts very nice. I used to go for more gain and hotter output but it all turns into mush live. I rewired my Strat with humbuckers now, JB and '59 which work really well with my Tele and I don't have to fiddle with setting when switching guitars, it just gives me a bit more "oomph" when I need it. JB is a hotter pickup but I'd say it has "medium" output when compared to some other pups made specifically for high gain in mind. I think my 66 is perfect for anything I do ... it's super crunchy to start with and when pushed harder it just crunches more and more without ever loosing that cut and edge necessary to be heard in a loud, live setting.

You must know Scott H. I have an Octron on order, and the push is a definite possiblity too. GREAT pedals.

Yeah, I get most of my stuff from Scott ... he's an awesome guy, really knowledgeable and helpful. Pretty straight up too, never tries to sell something just to sell it, always tells me if he thinks something is not going to work out.

I tell him what I like about certain pedals, and what I don't, and he gives great advice. Tell me if you're ever interested in trading out pedals, etc. sounds like we have similar tastes.

Very cool man! I just sent that over to my band mates (3 low-key suit and tie types....and one contractor....). That's kind of the sound we (I) like! Nice work with the tele. I am more of a tele guy, but the other guys in our little garage band like me to bring the Lester out all the time.
Thanks for sharing!!

Cool...hey iggs..did you use the 66 on "not fade"? Thanks LL ... no I did not use the 66 on the record at all, I bought it after we finished recording. Most of the sounds, clean and dirty, are from Diezel VH4 through a Diezel or Marshall straight 4x12. Before y'all start cringing (like I was at first) let me tell you that it's an amazing sounding amp and very versatile. It can go from super saturated scooped death metal to jazzy clean in a sec, it's very easy to get great sound out of it and it records better then any amp I've heard. Other amps we had but always kept coming back to the VH4 were: 70s Marshall Super Lead, Komet, 30W 2ch Stevenson, VHT 50CL and my Bümbox Lead 50 (verse guitars on Rewind and most of the bass tracks). All was miked with a 57 and 421 through Neve pre's into Pro Tools HD rec'd at 24-bit 96kHz. So to answer the question, if I remember right, it was the Diezel all over Not Fade, we just switched between channels for different sounds.

The Route is a pretty 'pedal friendly' amp. I have gotten almost every possible tone out of it with the right combination in front.
