Where has this amp been all my life? Just spent a good hour with the Remedy and my Les Paul. I haven't played the LP for a while, and broke it out because I've been listening to my ZZ Top collection in the car. BMT=dimed Both volumes on 2:30 o'clock Brake Lite on three clicks, half power (maybe not bedroom level, but certainly "wife tolerates" mode) The Remedy was MADE for humbuckers - it just sucks in strings and spits out TONE. If my fingers could put up with it, I could do that all night.

The Remedy was MADE for humbuckers I've been a Strat guy for a long time, but since I've had this amp, the McCarty is my new #1.

The Remedy just loves my Les Paul Traditional and '58 VOS. I took my Strat to practice this week and I'm not too sure about the tones with single coils yet.................I need to spend some time to play with the adjustments. I was using the Brake Lite at 1 and 2.

Just like the Maz was made for single coils.

Where has this amp been all my life? Just spent a good hour with the Remedy and my Les Paul... I hear you, man! It's such a great feeling, playing for hours with the Remedy. It's just a killer, killer rock and blues amp - best tone I've ever had. My SG definitely gets more play time than my (recently acquired) Texas Tele, but I think that's just because it's been my #1 guitar all my life. The Tele sounds smoking, too, although its "Hot Vintage" pickups are a thing unto themselves...

I just simply want one! I really envy you guys (hey, nothing bad at all!!!). Keep enjoying the amp, and I'll keep reading your posts until I will (hopefully) get mine! By the way, I play mainly P90s and mini humbuckers. Does anyone here have any experience with them and the Remedy? Sorry for the off topic. Cheers' Andy

Cheers' Andy I no longer have either, unfortunately (what in the world was I THINKING when I sold my '73 Les Paul Deluxe? d'OH) but I played my Strat neck pup on there last night and it was freaking glorious. I decided to dime everything and even though I was at half power and the Brake Lite was on three clicks, the wife appeared at the top of the stairs complaining. So I moved the Brake Lite to position 4 and it STILL sounded glorious! Played another half hour that way and now I can't wait to get it out to a gig this weekend.

It's a shame you no longer have them, Steve, I would've loved to listen to one of your great clips with either one of them!! I'm looking for an amp that does the same thing that the MAZ does for my P90s (LP Special), but for my mini-hums (and yes, it is a LP Deluxe, but a '99 anniversary edition, not a '73!!!!!), and I guess that the Remedy would be my thing. Thanks for the info anyways. Cheers, Andy

Just got the Remedy last night!! Holy S---! It's loud!!! Thanks to Steve for answering some attenuator questions for me!! I'm going to buy an Air Brake this weekend. Forget about trying to get the volume up at home even at 20 watts. I haven't had the courage to go to 40 watts. Without the Air Brake I don't think I could even get close to the Allman's, Gov't Mule, David Grissom tones I want in the small to medium size bars I play in. I'm going to play it through either my Avatar 2x12 (V30/G12H) or Mesa 2x12 (V30's). Do I need a 1x12?

I came home tonight and plugged into the Remedy. Both volumes 2:00, BMT 12:00, 20 watts-----stepped into the adjacent room from where my setup was----damn!!!! Amazing tone!!! I absolutely can't believe how great it sounded. It was smooth with awesome sustain! I've never owned an amp with this kind of sound! I was playing through my PRS DGT. The bridge pickup had depth, no brittleness, and the neck pickup was very warm. Dig in and the sound had balls! Roll off the volume and it cleaned up to several different shades. This is my first Dr. Z. I've been a Mesa player for the 15 years I've been playing. I'm floored by the complexity of the Z tones. Again, I can't wait for the Air Brake so I can be in the same room. My wife would have been in my grill if she would have been home. Can you say blown eardrum? By the way I'm seeing Gov't Mule in Denver 2 nights this weekend!! Can't wait!!

This is my first Dr. Z. I've been a Mesa player for the 15 years I've been playing. I'm floored by the complexity of the Z tones. I've sold off two Mesas since getting into Zs. Both were nice amps, but they just sounded sterile compared to the MAZ and the Remedy. Forgot to mention that both MBs were gone before the Monza arrived.

Loving the Remedy? Yep. I never thought I'd say this, but it has knocked the Ghia off the top spot in my lineup. The Ghia is pure magic, so that's saying something.

If I weren't already getting an SRZ-65 (on order, here in a couple weeks) and a Monza (April-fingers crossed), the Remedy would be next...oh, the Doc is breaking my bank!

I love the Remedy, of course, but I don't see it as being that loud of an amp, especially when played in a big space, with a heavy hitting drummer.
Lately, I've been actually wanting to get a bit more volume out of it, but can't because it has such little headroom when past noon on the dial. (This is coming from a long-time Marshall half-stack player, though... LOL!)
But I do love that Remedy tone... so damn thick, sweet, and nasty.

Used the Remedy at a gig for the first time last night. I was wanting the Celestion Gold to get broken in some what before playing out.
I have been using my Marshall 1974X for most venues and was a little worried about using the Remedy in a smaller bar.
The Remedy just sounded killer last night! I had the Brake Lite set on 2 but probably could have gone to 1.
This amp has such a huge full sound.................absolutely love it!

Indeed!!
I had to move the Remedy to the basement, so that it's two floors away from the wife....................
I got rid of my last Mesa when I got my first JCM-800. And, the Remedy is one of the few amps that can really hold it's own with the best of Marshall, including good old ones.
I have to admit it's a bit more challanging to figure out how to tweek it's tone with various guitars.........it's controls are unique, that's for sure.
However, it's a muscular tone monster just daring you to go for it, because it'll take what ever you throw at it.
