I´m a 23 year old musicstudent/guitarplayer from Levanger, Norway. My sessions ranges from old bluesy 60/70´s stuff to more modern soul/funk and jazzy pop. My guitars of choice are a couple of pauls and two strats. I´d been searching for almost a year for an amp that´s dynamic and versatile enough to pull off all these different styles, but still maintaing its own "personal" charactareristic. I was on the verge of giving in to the "POD" sollution when a friend of mine suggested the Route 66. Being sick of trying out all these different amps, I spontaniously called vintagegitar in Kristiansund and got one without even testing it. It arrived two days later and when I fired it up for the first time; GOOSEBUMPS! For a 32-watt amp, it´s way louder than I expected it to be (destroys my AC30), but still it sounded so incredibly focused, defined and thick. Smokey, but crystal clear you know? Not a single note gets left out and it manages everything from beefy bluesrock to softer popstuff. I also love how it cuts through the mix, but not in a harsh trebly way. You just notice it in there because of its distinct characteristic. Strat, Tele, Les Paul; it doesn´t matter. This amp delivers the goods. The Dr.Z Route 66 is the best guitaramp ever! Thank you so much for making this outstanding amp so I finally can have a good nights sleep again

Yep that it does - that's one thing that really stood out for me, on the first live gigs I did with mine.
Cheers: Dixiechicken!

Remember, the tone controls are more than tone controls
From 8:00 (o'clock) to noon, they act as tone controls From noon to 5:00, they act as tone controls AND drive controls for that frequency.
Most people keep the volume and treble on 3:00 and play with the bass from noon, to 4:00 (depending on speaker and guitar used)
Hope this helps, and welcome!!

POD's are evil... if that's all I had I would never play...
