If you could only have one pedal to use with your 66 what would it be? Im looking to get a clean boost of some sort, I have a Reverend Drivetrain but the 66 and it dont get along too well, it seems to take away a lot of the dynamics of the amp & makes it sound steril. Ive seen a lot of people here like the Fulltone stuff with the 66, im leaning towards putting out the $ for the GT-500 but want to see what you guys have to say. For clean playing I really like the way a Phase 90 works with this amp.

Diamond Pedals J-Drive Mk. 3 ... this pedal is IMHO what the Fulldrive was supposed to be but never was (for me at least).
Super thick and crunchy with great boost to use alone or to push the OD section even more.
Definitely my favorite OD/Boost ever, I went in wanting a Lovepedal Eternity and walked away with the J-Drive. Michael and the boys up there at Diamond Pedals make some killer stuff.

The RC Booster works great with the 66. I dial it in and leave it on all the time.

Both of those, J-Drive & RC-Booster, look very intresting. The J-drive seems like a better bang for the buck since it has both a boost and an overdrive. Im not in any great hurry so we'll see where I end up.

OCD, because of its tonal range and natural OD. When I'm recieving my KoT in 2030 (!) maybe I'll change....

I wrote OCD because, with one pedal you can also play some hard rock, without hearing loss due to the amp crancked!!!

For me, there's something magic when I mate the 66 up with a Hellbilly germ/sil hybrid boost/fuzz............like they are brothers from another mother.

The Drivetrain is a great pedal for stiff amps because it does compress so much. I think that's why you don't like it with the 66, the amp is already compressing. I think you'd want a harder non compressing pedal maybe like the OCD.

It doesn't come up much, but I love the Keeley DS-1 Ultra with the Route66. I didn't use much drive at all - just a touch - and mainly used it as a strong volume bump w/attitude. Usually heard the term "perfect guitar tone" from the engineers...and it wasn't my playing. Sometimes I'd pair it with another drive if I wanted more gain.

Let's see...only one pedal w/ my 66? Does the tuner count?
Not including the tuner I'll go with my RMC2 Wah.

Oops! Looks like I should have read the whole post first. Sorry.
They are not clean boosts but both clean up very nicely with the guitar volume.
Analogman Beano Boost
65Amps Colour Boost
Great pedals!

This is like asking "if you could only eat one thing, or look at one girl..forever what/who would it be". Well I'm just not ready to make this kind of commitment, sounds like musical starvation..gotta have a wah/fuzz

I would say Fulltone OCD as well. You can use it as a clean boost & it will also do great OD tones in 2 modes LP & HP. You can also leave it on all the time and use your volume knob on your guitar for clean to mean like Trower does.

Klon....
I've been working on a new CD and the 66 and the Klon as a clean boost or with some gain is killing me. I use the 66 alone but every now and then when you need to kick a track and not mess with the tone the Klon is it.
Peace, The Rev.
