Just picked up my new blonde 66 from the friendly folks at Black Creek in New Paltz NY. Tried it with 1x12, 2x10 and 4x10 open and closed. Gotta say. Don't know how you could want anymore than the 2x10. They all sounded incredible. But given the sound and my back, it's a clear winner! Thanks to Matt and Wassel. Great knowledgeable guys!

Congrats. Its a great amp. I have a 210 and 112 convertable that I use with mine. Both great. The Z best sounds best to my ear but its too loud for anything that I do. It takes a while to learn everthing about this amp, so be patient. With a few pedals, it'll cover just about any rock blues or alternative sound you care to make. I use a couple of dirt boxes, a fuzz, a boost and a trem with mine, but most of the time its all bypassed, cause the amps sounds so good on its own.

DC here!
Yep it's a great amp - I also choose the 2x10" cab == money & weight.
This weekend I'll borrow the new Roland Space-Echo stompbox and try it out.
Went to the local music store & said I wanted a TC Electronic Nova Delay/Reverb - they got nervous ;D - and anxiously said I really should try out the Roland Space Echo stomp gizmo.
I'll try it out - and post my impressions of it - under the effects section.
Cheers: Dixiechicken!

Thanks DC. After all these years, my knowledge of effects is still just about zilch. I like a touch of reverb now and then. Never was big on tremolo. A bit of grind can be cool. And, of course, the wah once in a while. Years ago I picked up a multi effects box with chorus, phase, delay and compression. Now it's collecting dust somewhere. Now I have a TS-10, a Morley wah and an Alesis Nanoverb. Funny thing. I got that Nanoverb on ebay anticipating I'd get one of those portable Crate heads. But after trying the thing, I passed and haven't bought anything until this '66. Now I'm really anxious to put the 66 through its paces before I start throwing stuff on top of it. But I'd sure be interested in hearing your opinions. Later, Marty

Another 66 convert...Welcome Marty. Your right..the 66 sounds good with all cabs. My fav is the 4x10. I have all the pedals, but I really just like it with a little Delay.

DC here!
Delay recommendations - you bet?
T-Rex Replica, TC Electronic Nova/2290 Delay, Carl Martin DeLayla XL, Carl Martin Red Repeat, TC Electronic Vintage Delay. Fulltone Tube Tape Echo - (expensive) Roland Space Echo RE-20.
Ah welll... you'll have to check them out your-self
Cheers: Dixiechicken!

Have to tell you. That Rte 66 is about the biggest baddest kind of sound! Couldn't dial a bad sound ... and I tried!! Tried it through my 60 LP and an old black tele. Ultra cool. Ultra loud, too! Scared the cat right out of the music room! In my spare time (hah) I now have to put it through its paces of pedals, guitars and speakers. I cannot imagine anything more. Just incredible. And even with the single pups, just as quiet as a mouse. Couldn't be happier. Thanks to Matt and Wassel at Black Creek and Mike Zaite!

I think few pedals won't sound great with this amp. Congratulations for your new toy.
