hey there guys i have a conundrum. i cannot make up my mind between these 2 amps for my crunchy tones. I play through an rxjr with a 112 blue right now for my clean tones. and i have been wanting to get a seperate amp for my crunch and overdrive for a 2 head setup and just ditch my pedals. what are the major differences between the remedy and GT??? I love the simplicity of the GT and benttop(thesteve)'s demos of the GT are making me think to go with that one a whole lot. I didnt care for the tone he got with the remedy though, i thought it sounded a little too thin and bright for my tastes. But others have said that it is actually warmer than the GT.....so now i am way confused.....
what does everyone here think?

That's one of the problems with recordings. Sometimes they lie... The Remedy is just as fat (if not fatter) than the GT. In my eyes, there are two major differences between the two amps. 1. The GT is wide open from the first sound, and it is really loud. 2. The GT is high gain from the first inkling of sound - if you want clean headroom at all, this is not the amp unless you want to run with your guitar volume turned way down all the time. That said, the GT has wondrous overdrive - a musical instrument in its own right. The Remedy can get almost as much gain as the Mazerati GT, but it can also run as a clean amp. In addition, with the half power switch, you can run in a lower watts mode. Still loud, but lower than the GT. I love both of them. They are both world class amps, and worthy of significant recognition among world class amps. But I sold the Mazerati GT and I'm keeping the Remedy.

Remedy can definitely cover from clean to mean,no dirt boxes needed. Steve is right on.

The Maz GT is extremely loud. At 10:00 in a Big 3,000 square foot house that's wide open rooms. The Maz Gt Rattles the windows. It can be tamed some with a Brake.
The Remedy on the other hand can be set at 1/2 power 10 and 12 no Brake. Now while it's loud it's not ear shattering at 1/2 power. Plus a Brake lite at 2 makes it really manageable.
I have even found that I can put the settings at 8 and 9 put my brake lite at 1. Play through a Blue and a H30 in a closed 18 X16 Room. I don't make the wife made and I can still get a fairly nice just above bedroom level break up for practice. And clean is a no brainier.
Compared to the RXjr the Remedy or the GT are LOUD LOUD , Although personally I like the Jr's cleans but just don't care for the distorted side of that amp. Maybe if I had some different speakers.
I'd stick with the Remedy. I don't think you'll like the GT unless you have large venues to play.
The places I play I don't ever see using the Remedy on full power. It's to loud.

Another suggestion-
The SRZ-65 would allow you to use a master volume and not have to buy an air brake, which you would almost certainly need if you got the Remedy or the Mazerati GT and tried to level match those to a Rx Jr. in a live setting. Just playing devils advocate here- I have tried all the Z amps out, already own a couple, and I decided on the SRZ as my dirty amp and the EZG as my clean. Might work for you too. If you can, try out all three WITH your Rx Jr in a shop and then decide...
