fuse?

i just blew the fuse on my brand new r66. i replaced it with one from radio shack. the fuse i replaced it with had all the same specs as the one that came with the amp. but now my amp hums!? is it the fuse? what fuse should i get and where should i get it?

I think you blew a fuse because something's up with either the output tubes or the rectifier. Is one of the output tubes red-plating? Can you replace the rectifier and see if it still hums?

Agree with Iggs, fuse failures are usually output tube or rectifier problems. New tubes have a pretty high early failure rate. If they get through the first few start ups, they'll last for years. Most of the tube failures I've had over the years were with new tubes. If its brand new, there may be warranty coverage.
